Hope
The light flickered,
giving a brief look
at the encompassing world
once forgotten.
Burning a refreshed memory into my mind,
rekindling
old thoughts
feelings
longings.
Seems it not funny how easily the heart remembers
what the mind tries hard to forget?
How passionate one thing may seem for a while
then just dreary
then suddenly looming its vicious head
like a sated serpent
rearing and ready to resume battle
invigorated.
ALAS!
